Job Description:Provide application and administration support for Hadoop environment. Analyze and resolve support related issues for global Dell business users and Dell vendors. Resolve all incidents, service requests, and WOWs within SLA targets. Willing to work on-call, on-site & amp amp rotational shifts in a 24 X 7 environment. Role Responsibilities HDFS support and maintenance. Responsible for implementation and ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure. Have an excellent understanding of how the Hadoop components work and be able to quickly troubleshoot issues. Should be well versed with Hadoop environment administration including installation/configuration, upgrades/migration, deployments, deployments, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Installation & amp amp Configuration Management of a multi node Hadoop cluster. Cluster maintenance as well as creation and removal of nodes using the appropriate tools. Collaborating with application teams to install operating system and Hadoop updates, patches, version upgrades when required. Fault tolerant configuration set-up, Backup and Recovery, Manage & amp amp review of Hadoop log files, File system management and monitoring. Hadoop cluster capacity planning, aligning with the systems engineering team to propose and deploy new hardware and software environments required for Hadoop and to expand existing environments. Monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security. Working with data delivery teams to setup new Hadoop users. This job includes setting up Linux users, setting up Kerberos principals and testing HDFS, Hive, Pig and MapReduce access for the new users. Performance tuning of Hadoop clusters and Hadoop MapReduce routines. Performance Metrics and Reporting Contribute ideas to application stability, performance improvements and process improvements. Exposure to automation scripts, performance improvement & amp amp fine-tuning services / flows Resolve all incidents, service requests, and WOWs within SLA targets. During crisis conditions, willing to act in the role of problem facilitator to drive cross functional efforts of various teams toward issue resolution. 100% compliant to all the procedures and processes. Ensure proper handoffs of issues during shift change. Train new hires and mentor junior team members. Requirements -- Willing to work on-call, on-site & amp amp rotational shifts in a 24 X 7 environment. Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies. Experience in Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS) - Advanced Experience in Support. Good analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills. Exposure and experience in Troubleshooting Core Java Applications is a plus. Exposure to any of the scheduling tools (preferably Control-M) and bug tracking tools (preferably Remedy) Strong customer satisfaction focus and drive for results Overall exp between 5 to 8 yrs with at least three/four years of relevant experience. Preferences Bachelors/Masters Degree in IT or related field. Strong interpersonal skills, very good command of English and excellent communications are mandatory. Strong team player with ability to work in a team and as individual contributor with minimum supervision.
