Job Description:1.Qualification and Experience Education :PhD / M Ed / B Ed from a recognized University Job Related : Experience :Minimum 15 years experience of teaching, research as well as administrative experience from recognized Schools Business Understanding :In depth understanding of the functioning of CBSE schools and other Board Others : Networking with CBSE Board 2.The Principal will be Responsible for : Taking full charge of the School operations and ensuring smooth functioning of the school on a day-to-day basis thereby fulfilling the requirements of the school as per plan. Sustaining the quality of academics and ensuring continual improvement. Initiating introduction of Innovative courses, Ensuring on an ongoing basis - the knowledge development and knowledge management of the school through research activities. Managing the Facility and infrastructure and enabling infrastructure development as per the requirements. Devising and implementing programmes that help ensure overall development of students. Enhancing capabilities of the teachers and administrative staff through training, coaching and mentoring 3.The Role of the Principal will include 3.1 School Operations In charge of admissions. Responsible for ensuring that the seats are filled by the deserving and best students Supervise in a fair and consistent manner effective discipline and attendance systems with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school. Responsible for mobilizing funds for the management of the school through grants from school fees, etc. In charge of recruitment of faculty and administrative staff Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents and school personnel. Serve as a role model for students, professional demeanor, demonstrating the importance and relevance of learning, accepting responsibility, and demonstrating pride in the education profession. Responsible for establishing and maintaining the campus. Conduct audits and ensure that a clean and green environment is maintained Responsible for overseeing housekeeping. Ensure conduct of audits Managing the school activities/ functions well and achieving the schedule as per plan 3.2 Enhancing Brand Image Responsible for enhancing the brand image through tie-up with national and international schools Responsible for effective functioning of Association of Parent Teacher Association and building a network 3.3 Quality of Academics Responsible for ensuring quality academic results through enhancing quality of teaching Ensure that an innovative curriculum is developed and that at the same time it meets Central Board of Secondary Education requirements. Evaluate the curriculum and make changes w.r.t demands Responsible for interacting with the Central Board and bringing guest faculty in order to enhance the quality of education and make it attuned. Responsible for ensuring that seminars and workshops are conducted on a regular basis. Evaluate the quality of content and teaching in these seminars and workshops. Conduct book reviews periodically as well. In charge of the learning and development process for the faculty. Train, coach and mentor the teachers 3.4 Extension Activities Take initiative in establishing various co-curricular activities through the house system or in such other effective ways as this position may think fit. Conduct meetings, as necessary, for the proper functioning of the school: weekly meetings for full-time staff monthly staff meetings. Develop and organize the library resources and reading facilities in the school and ensure that the pupils and teachers have access to and use of books and journals of established value and usefulness. Work on other useful projects and work towards getting appropriate grants from the governing bodies. 3.5 Research and Development Responsible for increasing the knowledge base of the school and improving quality of curriculum through collaborative research Ensure that tie-ups are made and maintained with national and international schools Research and collect data regarding the needs of students, and other pertinent information 3.6 Student Development Ensure that the students are well trained in soft and communication skills by conducting programmes Responsible for ensuring development of students in sports through various tournaments In charge of facilitation of student support services and student scholarship programmes for the meritorious students 3.7 Learning and Growth Responsible for enhancing learning and growth of faculty and admin staff through training and development Responsible for establishing and conducting mentoring programme for all-round development of teachers and admin staff Ensure that the best teachers and staff are retained periodically Responsible for development of induction policy for faculty and admin staff Responsible for conduct of lectures and staff club programmes Provide goals, KRAs for faculty, Monitor on an on-going basis and conduct appraisal / feedback sessions frequently. 3.8 Specific Requirements The Principal is the key administrative person for running of the School administerially and functionally. Key areas include: Admissions of students Development of faculty and administrative staff Funding of School through Grants Academic quality development Research and development Extra-curricular development of students Enhancing the brand image
